Communications Manager I £38-42K I Central London
My client is an established family run commercial property business which has expanded rapidly over the past three years as the emphasis has switched towards more strategic level projects. The internal and external communications have traditionally been the responsibility of the CEO with several of the more senior directors accountable for Corporate Responsibility, marketing, PR, the website, well-being and the Estates magazine. The demand for well-executed communication activities are growing, therefore they are looking to recruit a Communications Manager!
My client is one of the main landowners within London and also has some rural estates in the home counties. Over the past 15 years the Estate has refurbished its properties to a very high standard; it has invested heavily in public realm projects and has worked hard to support many aspects of the community, especially schools and charities. The Estate takes great pride in its stewardship of the area. The physical fabric of the Estate, the quality of its internal refurbishments and its customer services are pivotal to attracting and retaining both visitors and occupiers. The company is very focused on maintaining its high reputation – particularly among its customers, partners and stakeholders.
Working with the Estate Secretary and reporting to the CEO, the Communications Manager will be responsible for:
- Driving and delivering the Estate’s communications strategy (in conjunction with the CEO and the Estate’s Head of Retail, as well as its communications’ agents); to include destination marketing
- Shaping the content and project management of the Estate’s periodic magazine (in conjunction with the publisher)
- Maintaining and enhancing the Estate’s website (working alongside the website’s administrator)
- Steering the Estate’s Corporate Responsibility activities (in combination with its consultants)
- Support to the CEO to deliver internal communications, especially maintaining the wellbeing survey and wider wellbeing initiatives
- Maintaining relationships with external agencies (communications, crisis management, local business improvement district, corporate responsibility)
- Evaluating and reporting on activities undertaken.
- Developing and driving forward our social media strategy
- Assisting with the organisation of Corporate events
- Other internal and external communications activities as they develop.
The right candidate will have a degree and will have worked in a communications related post for around 5 years. A Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification would be helpful. Some previous exposure to delivering Corporate Responsibility would also be an advantage, and a property or destination marketing background would be advantageous. While this is a new position, the successful candidate will take over and develop already well-established strands of work. The successful candidate will have the chance to grow with the company. They will be justifiably self-confident, a self-starter and equally at home in working on their own or as part of a team.
