What do you buy a London PR for Christmas? Here’s our ultimate PR gift guide!
Ho ho ho! It’s CHRISTMAS! Consumer PRs did Christmas about six months ago so they’re probably totally over it by now, but we are feeling extremely festive here at Workfish so we’ve put together a list of the top gifts for London PRs to save you the trouble. No, you don’t have to thank us, we know you’re busy.
Consumer PRs
90% of consumer PRs want to work on Red Bull so perhaps you could buy them a crate of the stuff so they can literally ‘absorb the brand’. It’s also very effective at this time of year when they are burning the candle at both ends by partying every night and slaving away all day.
Alternatively a jar of Marshmallow Fluff makes a good ironic stocking filler – because they’re clearly NOT.
Fashion PRs
Tiny dogs have been a long-running must-have for fashion PRs and in this weather their darling poochettes will need a coat to keep them schnug and warm! Check out www.yuppypup.co.uk for an amazing selection of on-trend canine outerwear such as this darling pink coat.
If your intended recipient is a mutt-free zone then you could always buy them something else furry to compensate. We are reliably informed that the Fendi Bag Bug (left) is a must-have accessory this season and is, we believe, a snip at only £460… (it’s REAL fur, so quite good value really…).
Finance PRs
For our Financial PR friends, how about an emergency moneybox, in case they need their own personal bail out. Or just lunch money. Despite a revival in M&A activity this year we hear things aren’t what they were in the City and bonuses are a mere shadow of their former selves. All together now, “Aaaawwww!”. No really…. £9.99 from I Want One Of Those.
Tech PRs
Don’t even try to buy them something actually technology-related, they will only snort and smirk at how very behind the times you are. Plus, they already own all the best gadgets – why do you think they work in Tech PR? Instead buy them something flatteringly ironic like this motherboard chopping boards £9.99 from www.iwantoneofthose.com
Sports PRs
It’s exhausting just thinking about working in Sports PR, they probably have to run to work and wearing lycra to the office is almost certainly mandatory. Help them keep track of their super-fitness with the latest wearable technology from Jawbone which tracks their resting heart rate, workouts, sleep and everything else they’ll need to know for optimum smugness, sorry, fitness.
Jawbone UP3 £149.99 from www.expansys.com/
Corporate PR
It appears to be a ‘thing’ that our suited and booted corporate PR colleagues (the guys, anyway) don’t like to wear a coat over their pinstripes. We’re not sure why this is. It may be because they are so cool they simply don’t feel the cold, or maybe they just travel everywhere by black cab and therefore have no need of winter outerwear. We’d hate for them to catch a chill though, so we’re suggesting this rather gorgeous Hermes scarf. Bargain at £410. You could buy two…
Great creatives have, historically, employed any number of means to get their creative juices flowing. Creative Directors in PR today are no different and most rely on industrial quantities of coffee to power them through the day. To help them experience more ‘lightbulb moments’, how about this fab little USB, £9.99 from iwantoneofthose.com
